Recorded over two days and mixed by \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/www.allmusic.com\/artist\/converge-mn0000123363\" class=\"name-link\"\u003eConverge\u003c\/a\u003e man \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/www.allmusic.com\/artist\/kurt-ballou-mn0000095057\" class=\"name-link\"\u003eKurt Ballou\u003c\/a\u003e, Unsilent Death is basically too heavy for punk, too fast for hardcore, too nimble for grindcore, and certainly too ADD-concise for death metal. So let's keep it short, like the songs themselves: 30-second blasts like \"Conform,\" \"Your God,\" and \"Scapegoat\" come as close as the band desires to actual grindcore; the equally brief \"Traitor\" is half speedster, half breakdown, and along with the \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/www.allmusic.com\/artist\/his-hero-is-gone-mn0000682107\" class=\"name-link\"\u003eHis Hero Is Gone\u003c\/a\u003e-inspired \"Scum Will Rise,\" comes spiked with feedback squeals; \"No Servant\" pretty much D-beats the sh*t out of \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/www.allmusic.com\/artist\/discharge-mn0000156043\" class=\"name-link\"\u003eDischarge\u003c\/a\u003e; \"Suffering Soul,\" \"I Will Not Follow,\" and the unusually long title track's dirt-caked riffs calls to mind \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/www.allmusic.com\/artist\/entombed-mn0000741177\" class=\"name-link\"\u003eEntombed\u003c\/a\u003e; while \"Depths,\" the three-minute epic closing the album, wraps everything described above into an only slightly less compact sonic time bomb.
